Hello my name is Troy Carlton and I have created this 36 x 36 acrylic painting. It is part of a series where I am exploring motion, depth and texture.. It was created while listening to W.A.S.P- Golgatha. This records concept is about the crucifixion of Christ.. It was my intention to capture the darkness of the event while at the same time giving off the feeling of hope. I hope you enjoy the effort…
Troy Carlton was born and raised in Flint Michigan. Before turning his focus on expression through painting he expressed himself through playing music. As a lifelong musician, he also created abstract watercolors. At some point through his journey, he began using acrylic paints as his medium. Music as it always had been playing a role in the creation of his work. Before beginning new work he selects a record and allows the record to inform him of a feeling he then translates unto the canvas. His work has been described as a stream of consciousness mindscapes. And also emotional environments. His attempt through abstraction is to engage you with a feeling and allow the painting to take you on a journey.Â
