Matthew Laurence Knott

Born and raised on the beaches of Southern California, Matthew is best known for his bright, eye-popping style and obsessive use of color. There is a playful quality to his work that is influenced by his love for comic books and cartoons. Growing up Matthew found great inspiration in studying prolific artists such as Lichtenstein, Van Gogh, and Picasso. He is a self-taught artist with no formal art education.

 Matthew attributes his talents and success to being self-motivated and sometimes overly obsessive.  His personal goal is to produce work that will distract his audience and evoke a state of bliss. His portfolio includes mural installations, canvas work as well as digital illustration. Matthew paints in the belief that his paintings complete themselves by triggering self-discovery in their viewers.
