Before placing a bid, you will need to provide some payment information in order to verify your identity and most importantly prove that you are able to pay for the artwork. However, bids that exceed $10,000, you will need to provide a credit card. Note that you will only need to provide that information once.
Automatic Bidding
Automatic bidding is the easiest way to bid on a Rocart auction. Simply enter the highest price you are willing to pay, and we will bid on your behalf, up until that limit. Note that if someone outbids you, we will let you know so you can decide if you want to increase your maximum limit.
Why have you immediately been outbid?
If you immediately get outbid, it is likely another buyer is also using the automatic bidding and has placed a maximum bid that is higher than yours. In that case, you will need to place a higher bid to increase that limit.
How reserve prices work
Artists can choose to add a reserve price when listing an artwork in a Rocart auction. A reserve price is a minimum amount a seller is willing to sell the artwork for, so if the reserve price is not met by the end of the auction, the artwork will not be sold.
