Created from the inspiration I felt while working on a restoration project in the Czech Republic, of an old train station. All my recent works are inspired from the old forgotten buildings I had the pleasure of touring while in Europe. It’s a constant goal to reach old worn textures with a polished look.
Ryan Farag is a #texturealist, currently working on two restoration projects in rural Montana. For over 15 years, Ryan has been in and out of almost every facet of the coatings industry. Guilding, glazing, enamel, powder coat, staining, faux finishing and so on. Since a child, line drawings have always been an influence. He studied printmaking and worked for an architecture restoration firm for 3 years where he picked up many long-forgotten techniques from old masters. The desire to create “texture tarps” really came from a restoration trip overseas that turned into a wild discovery of plaster and color. They are an exploration-based solely in texture. The main driver to create is MOOD, how can colors and texture manipulate mood? That and he just loves combining a multitude of materials together to see what they form.
