Hello. This is a 20 x 24 acrylic abstract painting on canvas. It was created by listening to Earth – Primitive and Deadly. It is a droning guitar based band who creates a dreamlike feeling and I hope that through color choices and composition and texture that I captured that feeling.
Troy Carlton
Troy Carlton was born and raised in Flint Michigan. Before turning his focus on expression through painting he expressed himself through playing music. As a lifelong musician, he also created abstract watercolors. At some point through his journey, he began using acrylic paints as his medium. Music as it always had been playing a role in the creation of his work. Before beginning new work he selects a record and allows the record to inform him of a feeling he then translates unto the canvas. His work has been described as a stream of consciousness mindscapes. And also emotional environments. His attempt through abstraction is to engage you with a feeling and allow the painting to take you on a journey.
