“One moment can change a day, one day can change a life and one life can change the world.” Buddha was a spiritual teacher who is believed to have lived and taught mostly in the northeastern part of ancient India sometime between the 6th and 4th centuries BCE. His philosophy ended up creating the religion Buddhism, and tends to counter much of what is taught in the West. Using oil on canvas, the artist Ks Green depicts the legendary figure with his hands in the dharmachakra mudra gesture of teaching, referring to the Buddha’s first sermon at Sarnath. Completed in 2019, the painting offers a symbol of an introspective and peaceful ideology, and is a thoughtful piece for any philosopher, teacher or art lover.
