This is the second painting in my series exploring natures elements. This was created while listening to John Coltrane – Sun Ship, those familiar with that record know that it is a fiery high energy performance. It was on this painting the second of this series that I released unbeknownst to me I was in the middle of an elemental series. I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I enjoyed painting it..
Troy Carlton
Troy Carlton was born and raised in Flint Michigan. Before turning his focus on expression through painting he expressed himself through playing music. As a lifelong musician, he also created abstract watercolors. At some point through his journey, he began using acrylic paints as his medium. Music as it always had been playing a role in the creation of his work. Before beginning new work he selects a record and allows the record to inform him of a feeling he then translates unto the canvas. His work has been described as a stream of consciousness mindscapes. And also emotional environments. His attempt through abstraction is to engage you with a feeling and allow the painting to take you on a journey.Â
