This is a 36 x 36 abstract acrylic painting on canvas. It came from listening to the music of Jason Molina – Ghost Tropic. It somehow set me on a path of creating 4 of natures elements. This being water. I love it when the work dictates my direction and this has been an incredibly fun series to create. I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I enjoyed creating it..
Troy Carlton
Troy Carlton was born and raised in Flint Michigan. Before turning his focus on expression through painting he expressed himself through playing music. As a lifelong musician, he also created abstract watercolors. At some point through his journey, he began using acrylic paints as his medium. Music as it always had been playing a role in the creation of his work. Before beginning new work he selects a record and allows the record to inform him of a feeling he then translates unto the canvas. His work has been described as a stream of consciousness mindscapes. And also emotional environments. His attempt through abstraction is to engage you with a feeling and allow the painting to take you on a journey.Â
